QUIRINO PROVINCE

Nantugaw Falls, Quirino, Philippines
I was not yet an experienced hiker during my visit here so the scrambling and bouldering portions along the river that leads to where this waterfall is were truly one for the books.

Back then, no one really cares where Quirino is or what it can offer its visitors in terms of tourism. After all, only a very few bloggers have ventured in this side of the country. But I am glad that I was able to witness up close what this hidden gem in Cagayan Valley has in store for travelers.

Bimmapor Rock Formation, Quirino, Philippines
Aside from Abra, Quirino Province is another place which is difficult to explore DIY-style because modes of transportation to get to its municipalities and far-flung barangays are quite scarce. That’s why it’s much better to join organized travel events to save on time and costs as well.

This province may not have a beach being a landlocked province but it has lots of adrenaline-pumping activities to offer its tourists. You may check their waterfalls and try out river-tubing, trekking and spelunking.

We could not deny the fact that social media platforms have helped to make this province known in the travel community. A lot of travel groups and agencies already consider Quirino as a promising destination in one of their travel events. Thanks to the municipality’s tourism office and LGUs as well for spearheading this change.

By the time I travel again to Quirino, I would make sure to get back from my trip with quality photos. The pictures in this blog post were taken with my old school Sony camera phone so you wouldn’t expect sharp images.
📍Nantugao Falls
Siitan River, Quirino, Philippines
I joined PH First’s Random Journey in Quirino so I could finally prove if visiting this province is worth it. The monsoon thunderstorms may have brought some rains during our trip but generally, it was a successful event nonetheless.

Governor's Rapids, Quirino, Philippines
If you’re a fan of underrated tourist getaways which are equally beautiful as the famous ones, you should definitely include Quirino in your bucket list. And because the tourist spots of this province don’t really get crowded, you won’t have to deal with loads of photobombers which is really a plus.
📍Governor’s Rapids

I am actually looking forward to revisiting this province one day. I wanna see more of its attractions especially the ones which I haven’t explored in my 2014 trip.
