Hiking to get an unobstructed view of Taal Lake was absolutely worth it. This is probably one of my most favorite peaks for epic selfies.

I was only a noob hiker during my first time in Mt. Maculot. The hike is relatively short but the trail is a never-ending assault to get to the campsite. Thank the gods that majority of the trail is covered with trees.

Getting to the summit then traversing Maculot was never part of my bucket list. Maybe some other time when I go back. Getting to the rockies was already enough for me. After all, the 360-degree view here is undeniably perfect for capturing awesome photos.

📜✏️ Tips/Reminders:
📌The hike takes about 1.5 – 2 hours to the rockies. You may opt to hike up to the mountain’s summit and traverse the trail.
📌This mountain is recommended for beginners.
📌Bring enough hydration as there are no available water sources.

The rockies is just a few minutes away from the campsite but the trail is quite technical as you have to scramble to get to spots where you could have your pictures taken. Just be mindful of your footholds and handholds.

Mt. Maculot is a mainstream hiking destination. So expect a long line of mountaineers en route to the peak. The rockies really gets crowded during weekends and holidays.
