One wrong move and you’re doomed, literally. I got the chance to hike Mt. Marami with my friend who is the founder of One Hike Mountaineering Club. It was an organized hiking event and I quickly grabbed the opportunity to join.

Scorching. That’s how I would describe how hot its trail is. Majority of the path is open so you have no choice but to deal with the heat.

📜✏ Tips/Reminders:
📌The hike takes about 3 – 5 hours to summit depending on your pace.
📌Bring enough hydration as most parts of the trail are exposed to the sun.
📌Please take note that the trail could get really muddy during rainy season.
📌It’s advisable to hire a guide. Don’t veer away from your group since there are a lot of forks along the trail.
📌You can join organized hiking events online.
📌Always observe the LNT principles.

After taking enough photos and having our lunch at the shaded portions near the summit, we commenced our descent. Every step seemed like a hellish struggle because of the hot temperature. This was clearly one of the moments when I would ask myself, “Why am I doing this?”

Apologies for my appearance. It was really hot and the heat was trying its best to ruin my mood.
#BehindTheScenes
Mt. Marami, Cavite, Philippines
I thought the heat was our only hurdle. It turned out that Mum Nature was only warming us up. All hell broke loose when it started to rain. So what’s usually next after it rains? MUD. I would equate the mud in Mt. Marami’s trail to something that is too much traumatic and I am not exaggerating. It took us longer to reach the jump-off because of the mud situation. It was already dark when we left the registation area after washing up. I was really looking forward to having a delicious meal after that exhausting hike.
