Metro Manila METRO MANILA [Intramuros] / If my memory serves me correctly, this is where I first used my mirrorless camera. Right after I bought it, I quickly thought of Intramuros where I can try out my newly purchased travel companion. I was in high school when I first set foot in Intramuros. Our teachers organized an educational field trip to some of the famous spots in the city such as Manila Zoo and Intramuros and we traveled all the way from Oriental Mindoro. Camera phones that shoot high quality images were virtually non-existent back then so I never had a single picture here in Intramuros during that trip. Gods am I so old. Doing a photowalk in Intramuros is a great activity for history fanatics and lovers of old architectural designs. I invited my workmate and I’m glad there were only a handful of tourists during our visit. It was scorching hot during our photo session and we forgot to bring an umbrella. It’s advisable to minimize sun exposure if you’re planning to visit this walled city in the middle of the day. We finished our walking tour early in the afternoon but I was not yet satisfied with the photos so we decided to eat first at a nearby restaurant. We waited for sundown before doing my much awaited long exposure photography. Who wouldn’t love the old serene aura of these historical establishments at night? By the way, I could feel the frightening stares of paranormal imprints when I was posing at this spot. For those who want a feel of the historic vibe of the oldest district of Manila, make your way to City Hall Taft. You may walk or ride a pedicab to get to the walled city. Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, Baluarte de San Diego and Casa Manila are some of the attractions you can check out when you visit. ***For other destinations in Metro Manila, you may visit this link.
