📌 From Davao City Transport Terminal/Ecoland Bus Terminal, ride any van or bus bound for Mati City and alight at Tagum City (travel time: 2 – 3 hours depending on traffic condition and number/duration of stop-overs).
This is definitely one of my most favorite cities in the Philippines. A friend of mine from Mindanao posted a photo of it and when I got the chance to visit Davao Region, I made sure that a side trip to Davao del Norte’s capital city was part of my itinerary. This place radiates a certain feel-good ambience that I really like. One of the best things I saw in this city is this long stretch of palm trees dotting its highway.
It was a solo backpacking trip in July 2016 when I visited Tagum City. After visiting Agusan del Sur and Compostela Valley that day, I spent the night at the city proper. I asked a motorcycle driver at the terminal if he could accompany me to a cheap hotel.
Early morning the next day, I asked the motorcycle driver to give me a tour around the city. My apologies because I only took a few pictures due to the time constraint since I needed to get to Davao Oriental that day. After an hour or so, I was already en route to Mati City.
