Who wouldn’t forget the mishap we experienced in this Cebu escapade of ours? Our flight was delayed for effin’ five hours. The airline gave us a free flight as compensation for the inconvenience caused but I was not thankful, to be honest. After all, our itinerary was already ruined.

The moment we landed at Mactan-Cebu Airport, my friend and I hurriedly made our way to SM Traveller’s Lounge to deposit our stuff then hailed a cab to get to South Bus Terminal. Our bus ride to Lutopan took longer than expected because of the heavy traffic.

Our contact picked us up and we braved the steep bumpy motorcycle ride to get to the view deck of this man-made lake of mine tailings deposit of Carmen Copper Corporation.

Actually, I was quite disappointed with what we saw. The color of the lake was different compared to the photos I’ve seen online which were taken a few years ago.

I really had a hard time researching the information we needed in order to get to Biga Pit. I mean, the blogs online never mentioned any contact info of their motorcycle drivers who brought them to this lake. Thank the gods there’s Facebook to the rescue. I was able to find a guide who could take us here.

There were a few people taking photos as well at the time of our visit. After taking our shots for a couple of minutes, we had a side trip to the man-made forest of Camp 7 located along the highway connecting Toledo and Minglanilla.

We continued our journey to the city proper of Toledo.
***News Flash: All the buses that passed by were full so we had no choice but to stand inside the moving vehicle as it traversed the winding road leading to the city.

Upon reaching Toledo City, we quickly had our lunch then went straight to Capilla Santa Ana. Unfortunately, the place was closed because it was lunch time so we headed back to the city proper to wait at McDonald’s.

Some people were already inside Capilla Santa Ana when we got back. The maze in its premises may be relatively small and cute in size but it’s still Instagram-worthy.

After capturing pictures of this maze, we took a breather inside the chapel for quite some time (thanks to the super cold air conditioning since it was freaking hot outside) before going back to Cebu City then checked in at a lodge for the night. It was time to rest and save enough energy for another exhausting adventure the next day.
