⏺ Ride a bus from Metro Manila to Lipa City, Batangas (e.g. JAM Liner in LRT Taft-Buendia; travel time is 1.5 – 2 hours depending on traffic condition).
⏺ Ride a tricycle to get to Casa de Segunda.
⏺ If you still have time, you may visit Alulod Spring in Malvar.

Named after Segunda Solis Katigbak, our national hero Jose Rizal’s first love, this ancestral house can be found in Lipa City, Batangas.

I decided to visit two of my Batangueño friends and we agreed to check out this historical landmark in Lipa since my friends hailed from the nearby town of Malvar.

Casa de Segunda, also known as Luz-Katigbak House, is a heritage house museum built in the 1800s.

You will be greeted by tons of heirloom artifacts which symbolize the rich history of this place. We were so fortunate that we got the place to ourselves.

We finished our tour of the house early in the afternoon so we headed here at Taal Lake to catch the sunset. Too bad the overcast weather ruined our expectations.
