Nabas Wind Farm, Aklan, Philippines
I first caught a glimpse of these windmills during my Boracay trip in 2015 while I was swimming at White Beach one afternoon. I wondered what it would be like to see the sunset atop the hills of Nabas.

Pawa Hills, Nabas, Aklan, Philippines
It was the month of May in 2018 when my friend and I had a side trip to the municipality of Nabas to see its wind farm and rolling hills. We were supposed to catch the passenger boat to Hambil the next morning as part of our Visayas and Carabao Island adventure leg.

We just got back from our Mararison Island adventure and it was late afternoon when we arrived at Barangay Pawa. We passed by these rolling hills before heading straight to the windmills.

Nabas Wind Farm, Aklan, Philippines
It was a clear day when we visited the wind farm so we were lucky to see the jagged contours of Romblon’s Mt. Guiting-Guiting at the top of this hill.

There were no other tourists when we arrived. We stayed for a few minutes and took some shots before leaving.

As we were on our way back to the national highway from the wind farm, I saw how these verdant hills glistened as the rays of the setting sun touched its curves.

I asked our motorcycle drivers to stop so my friend and I could capture some photos. The soothing ambience of the setting sun made the moment priceless.
